Berkeley Media Training
What we offer

Our training is tailored to the precise needs of your business so there’s no predetermined off-the-shelf package available. However, our workshops cover the following;

  1. The case for keeping you on message.
  2. What journalists look for in a good story.
  3. What journalists look for in a good spokesperson.
  4. The ten pet hates of journalists.
  5. The ten tips for a successful media interview.
  6. Different types of journalists.
  7. Different types of media interview.
  8. Interview planning.
  9. Interview techniques – getting out of trouble.
  10. Dos and don’ts.

These can be tailored to print and broadcast according to preference. Our workshops can take place at your offices or at any of our locations in London, Reading, Bristol or Midlands.

We can coach an individual for a couple of hours prior to a media interview, or we can run interactive workshops for up to six people at a time for a half or full day sessions. As a matter of course, we like to video all role-play sessions to help give you a clear perspective.

After the session, delegates receive DVD recordings of their role-play sessions together with full documentation and a useful pocket guide which serves as an aide memoire at any future media interview. For a small charge, we can be available at the end of a phone for any hot line support subsequent to a media training session.

At the very top end of the scale, we can stage a live studio environment – TV or Radio - to get the full effect. You design the learning to suit your own needs.
